Morning sickness might not be so bad after all

This makes me feel better about the miserable first couple of months  :)

Week 18

How your baby's growing:

Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

So, the new pants are still comfortable, but I feel like I need suspenders to hold them up. They are still a little big. Luckily, my belt seems to still fit (on the last hole), so it's working for now. I think this picture sums it up pretty well, haha.
Nothing really new on the baby front. It was a gorgeous day outside, 84 degrees I believe it was, so I went to the park to read. And then to the grocery store. It was definitely nice getting out in the warm weather, but my feet were so tired by the time I got home. I'm pretty sure my converse aren't gonna work for me much longer.

Also having nothing to do with the baby, Brandon and I are starting French classes next week. Wish us luck! We really need to learn French, so I hope these go well.

And last but not least. A new picture. It's not quite as clear as the other ones, but I like the 'effect' it has on it. I think it looks pretty neat  :)

New clothes

It's amazing how much more comfortable maternity pants are. For a while, I didn't really want to buy any, cause I wanted to stay in my regular clothes (ha!), but these new ones are great. They don't squeeze any more and I have room to breathe now! I love it :)

And the weather outside is so nice right now. It's about 80 and sunny with a nice breeze. I love it. I just want to stand outside all day. Brandon said it's too hot though  :/
The weather is one reason I loved Texas. I'm not a big fan of the cold. And I am so glad I am mostly gonna be pregnant in the summer. The clothes will be much more comfortable. And I won't dread going for a walk or things like that.

Warning: This is a post about boobs (at least, the first half of it)

They won't stop getting bigger! I bought two new bras a few weeks ago, cause my old ones didn't fit anymore. And now the new ones don't fit anymore, either!  I am afraid to buy any others. I knew they were gonna grow and whatnot, but this is getting ridiculous. I got a sports bra, so that one fits for now, it's just not as comfortable as regular ones.

I went to the doctor today. When she was feeling around my stomach, she said the baby is pretty big and I might be farther along than we previously thought. Guess we'll find out at the ultrasound.
I also heard the heartbeat again. It was much louder this time, a lot more prominent. Last time it was quiet and hard to hear, and the baby kept moving around so it wasn't continuous.
So, baby is still there, seemingly doing well so far.

Oh, and my new favorite food is Chef Boyardee ABC's and meatballs. It's just so delicious. I love it. I wish they sold it in big cans.

17 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

I need to buy new jeans already. My clothes are starting to feel a little too tight. I really don't want to buy more, but I gotta do something, right? I also need to find somewhere that sells maternity clothes. I'd order online, but I have no idea what size I wear.

Baby is cooperating with me lately. And it's nice. Headaches are pretty much gone. Haven't thrown up in at least a week, probably more like two. Little pains come and go, but it's nothing yet.
So I guess I finally know what everyone was saying with the second trimester being the most comfortable and enjoyable. I'm not sure I'd go as far as enjoyable, but I've definitely been more comfortable.
I go to the doctor on Friday. I'm afraid to step on the scale. Last time, she told me I gained too much weight. And I haven't exactly been watching what I've eaten lately...

A little over 3 weeks until my ultrasound!

And here is a picture I took last week. I still don't look pregnant, I just look like I'm getting fat. But no matter how much I try to suck in my stomach, it doesn't go anywhere!

By the way

I totally want this  :)

And one of these:

It unwraps to make a pillow, and then it unfolds to make a blanket. How awesome is that?  Plus, it's way adorable.

16 weeks

Sorry this a couple days late, but better late than never, right?

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

'

4 months down, only 5 to go. Though I guess the first month doesn't really count considering I had no idea I was pregnant, haha.

Feeling pretty good lately. Headaches have lessened, a lot, which is great. Nausea still comes and goes occasionally, but it's not too bad. And now I start to feel more cramp-type pains in my stomach, which I assume is just everything growing and shifting down there. The tiny bump is getting a little bigger and more defined, so it's cool to be able to feel now exactly where the baby is. I'm also starting to get more of my energy back. I still feel lazy often, but I'm not as tired as I was before. Laying down and staring at wall is usually boring now, rather than awesome  :)

It's about time, huh?

Ok, so for all the clammering masses, here goes. The first picture.

Tiny Bump

I know, I know. I need to start taking pictures. I'll try to do it today. No promises though  ;)

If you were to look at me, you could tell I've gained a little weight, but it really looks like I've just been eating too much. The other night, I was messing with my stomach though, and feeling around the lower area, where the baby would be, and I can actually feel a tiny bump there!  It made me feel a little more pregnant and a little less like I've had too many corn dogs (which I'm trying to cut back on, but they're just so good).

We got an awesome package in the mail yesterday from Brandon's parents with a ton of good food in it and a few goodies, including some adorable Peeps salt & pepper shakers.
So we had chili dogs for dinner last night and now I think I'm gonna make some blueberry cheesecake muffins for breakfast.

Also, notice the new layout? It was made by the amazing Amy. She is also working on another one for me, so it might change again, but we'll see which one looks better. For now, I like this one a lot. We were told the blog layout was a bit boring, so with Amy's talents, we gave it a facelift. Hope it's better now  ;)

PS. It's snowing outside. I thought this was April? Ugh. I was so happy warm weather was coming...

15 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

As for me, the headaches are becoming a lot more frequent. I have a friend who is 2 1/2 weeks farther along than I am, and she says hers have calmed down, so hopefully mine won't last two much longer either.

Yesterday was Brandon's and my one year anniversary. He made me dinner and it was delicious. Other than that, we didn't really do much, had a nice relaxing day at home.

We did find a new apartment recently, I don't think I've mentioned that yet. It's nicer than the one we live in now, and much cheaper! We don't movie until June 1st, but I am excited for it already. I can't wait!  I'll take pictures once we get there.
